Today we had some grandparents (who wish to remain anonymous) donate $200 to help offset the cost of student's day out at the bowling alley Wednesday. Thank you to our generous donors for helping us give our students another great memory at SMS!

Dear SMS Families, As I mentioned in the article last week, registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not turned in your registration form and fee, I HIGHLY recommend you do so by the end of the week. We have several families on the waiting list who want to enroll and are waiting. We are giving our current families the first opportunity, but it is very important that you register asap. If you have any questions feel free to call the school office. Thank you, Andy Arn https://www.stmichaelripley.com/article/635542

I know many of you like to plan ahead. Although I do not anticipate this will change much, there are a few events that could be subject to change. I have had a few of you ask me about some dates next year, so I thought I would go ahead and get this out. Hope it helps.

Mr. Pedigo's 8th grade class just completed Homer's "Iliad". Congratulations to this group for not only raising their expectations of themselves, but also working hard to achieve this goal. Also thanks to Mr. Pedigo for leading this group, and teaching them the importance setting the bar high, and seeing it through!

School is running on schedule. However, there are a few slick spots on the hill. When you are dropping off this morning please avoid them as you drive up the hill. Thank you.

After talking to other school districts in the area regarding the possibility of hazardous weather conditions tomorrow, we will be sending work and materials home with students tonight in the event that we are unable to come to school tomorrow. If we cannot meet in person due to hazardous conditions, we will use a Non Traditional Instruction (NTI) day. Students in grades 5-8 will be required to join classes online, and students in grades K-4 will be at the discretion of the teacher. All materials that students need will be sent home, but should not be opened unless we have to use the NTI day. Feel free to contact teachers via email or dojo if you have any questions. Again, this is only in the case of weather keeping us from school tomorrow. Otherwise we will have class in-person as usual. Thank you for your cooperation!
