Good evening! I'm sure many of you have seen several school districts go ahead and call a delay tomorrow. After looking at tomorrow's weather forecast, it looks very similar to todays with less chance of snow, so we will run on a regular schedule tomorrow. Things went fine today. We had a few excused tardy and absent students, but truthfully, there weren't many more absent than any other day. Once again, the Georgetown bus will run as scheduled, and we believe Mr. Fussnecker has figured out a solution to the SMS bus "starting in the cold" issue, so the SMS bus should run on a regular schedule also. There will be no morning Ripley bus service, but there will be afternoon Ripley bus service like today. Have a great evening, stay warm!

We will have SMS bus service this afternoon!

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I can't get our bus(SMS) started this morning. Hoping we can get it going for the afternoon. The Georgetown bus will still run as scheduled.

Hill and sidewalks clear. I drove to the old bridge in Aberdeen because there was supposed to be more accumulation that way. Looks pretty clear. I'm sure there are some slick spots here and there so be careful and use your best judgment for your situation. We are on a regular schedule. Again, there will be SMS and Georgetown bus service, no Ripley morning bus service. Be safe!

Good afternoon! As I am sure many of you have heard, several of the local school districts are running on a delay tomorrow due to cold temps. I suspect that will be an issue on Wednesday as well. This is mostly due to children who are waiting outside for the bus to pick them up. Since this is not a major issue for us, we will run on a regular schedule tomorrow. The Georgetown and SMS bus will run as scheduled, but there will be no morning Ripley bus service. Any tardiness due to transportation issues due to the cold weather will be excused. Please make sure your child dresses warmly and wears a coat to school. Thank you!

We have had some questions regarding due dates for the science fair. Mr. Felice has "check in" dates for students which are not grades. The project will actually be graded the day of the science fair on January 26. 5th - 8th grade due dates for data are tomorrow. 3rd and 4th grade due dates for data are Friday January 19. Again these are check ins to make sure everyone is on track and have time to make corrections. Grading will take place the day of the science fair.

About four months ago we were presented with a dilemma when many of our families lost bus service. By the grace of God and generosity of so many along the way, I am proud to announce that St Michael Bus 1 will be in service tomorrow! Special thank you to Dusty and Jackie Fussnecker once again for purchasing the bus and making sure everything was up to code. Thanks to all the employees at Fussnecker and Sons who helped along the way and thanks to The Home Place in Georgetown who will serve as our bus stop. This bus will be used for any SMS family who does not currently receive bus service from their public district. It will also be used for local field trips. I will see our SMS 1 bus riders tomorrow between 7 and 710 at The Home Place tomorrow morning!

Christmas Week at SMS!

Christmas
We have just completed our stock market simulator for the Math Enrichment Group 7-8 grade and Griffin Ernst ended up on top our class finishing 14th overall out of all of the middle school students in the program. All of our students did well. In fact, they all finished in the top 60 of 120 + middle school stock market programs in south-western ohio (including schools like Mason High School and Sycamore who are DI schools). It is a great life lesson on how to invest your money and save for retirement.
