Good Evening SMS Families! We hope everyone had a great Easter Break! We are back starting tomorrow, with only six weeks left! It will go very quickly, let's do this!
I guess technically, April 15 is Wednesday, so if you still haven't finished your taxes, this will be the last time I post a reminder about the opportunity to donate your tax dollars to our Scholarship Granting Organization until next fall. I am excited to announce that we have raised over $50,000 to our SGO through this program that costs Ohio tax payers NOTHING! If you didn't do it this year, I hope you reconsider next year, please talk to other people who have done it, and you will be more confident about how it works. I was shocked how easy it ended up being! All of this money will go to help with our student's actual tuition. So all of our students are benefitting from this program. Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to participate. If you have not yet filed for this year, it's not too late!
On Wednesday, we have the kindergarten field trip to Greenacres. Kindergarten parents, please read the article for more information. Also on Wednesday, the Academic Team has a meet at Hamersville.
Unfortunately, there will be no afternoon bus service on Wednesday, April 15. I have a meeting that I cannot miss on the west side of Cincinnati, and Mr. Glassmeyer is not available. Please make arrangements for the afternoon.
First Communion for our second graders will take place on Sunday, April 19 at the 9:00 am Mass at St. Michael. Please pray for our second graders as they prepare for this Holy Sacrament!
Also on Sunday, April 19 is the annual Spring Concert at the Gaslight Theater in Georgetown. We will have more in next week's bulleting regarding attire, but students should be there at 2:30 to prepare, and the show will begin at 3:00.
Our seventh and eighth grades are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which will take place on Sunday, April 26 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains in Cincinnati at 1:30 pm.
Our seventh and eighth grades are also preparing for their adventure to explore Washington DC the week of April 20. This is an amazing opportunity, and feel blessed that our students will have this experience. We are hoping that this becomes a yearly tradition at SMS! Please keep our students in your prayers for safety and for strengthening of their faith and knowledge!
We just have a few people left who need to still turn in registration and EdChoice paperwork. Please get that in this week. If you need EdChoice applications or Registration forms, let us know in the office and we can send the to you in your white folder.
On Wednesday, we will be sending home white folders with current tuition and lunch balances. Please keep an eye out for those.
A few other field trips parents need to be aware of, and filling out permission slips, fees, etc.
SMS Day at the Ballpark (7th and 8th)
We are looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow!
