Happy Easter SMS Families!

Alleluia! He is risen! We hope everyone is having a great celebration and have a great break with your families. Just a few things I would like to put on your radar this week.

The tax deadline is coming up, so this will be the last time I post a reminder about the opportunity to donate your tax dollars to our Scholarship Granting Organization until next fall. I am excited to announce that we have raised over $50,000 to our SGO through this program that costs Ohio tax payers NOTHING! If you didn't do it this year, I hope you reconsider next year, please talk to other people who have done it, and you will be more confident about how it works. I was shocked how easy it ended up being! All of this money will go to help with our student's actual tuition. So all of our students are benefitting from this program. Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to participate. If you have not yet filed for this year, it's not too late!

There are a couple of events going on while we are on break. On Wednesday, April 8 there will be a mobile food pantry giving out food at St. George in Georgetown, from 10:00 am to noon. Seventh and eighth grade students are welcome to come volunteer, of course if anyone else would like to help, the more the merrier, but we ask that any students sixth grade and younger be accompanied by a parent. On Thursday, April 9, our Academic Team has their first match of the year! It begins at 4:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Spectators are welcome. Good luck Academic Team!

When we come back on the 13th, we will only have six weeks left, which will go quickly! The week of the 13th, we have the kindergarten field trip to Greenacres. Kindergarten parents, please read the article for more information. The Academic Team has a meet the evening of the 15th as well at Hamersville.

Unfortunately, there will be no afternoon bus service on Wednesday, April 15. I have a meeting that I cannot miss on the west side of Cincinnati, and Mr. Glassmeyer is not available that day. Please make arrangements for that day.

First Communion for our second graders will take place on Sunday, April 19 at the 9:00 am Mass at St. Michael. Please pray for our second graders as they prepare for this Holy Sacrament!

Also on Sunday, April 19 is the annual Spring Concert at the Gaslight Theater in Georgetown. We will have more in next week's bulleting regarding attire, but students should be there at 2:30 to prepare, and the show will begin at 3:00.

Our seventh and eighth grades are preparing for their adventure to explore Washington DC the week of April 20. This is an amazing opportunity, and feel blessed that our students will have this experience. We are hoping that this becomes a yearly tradition at SMS! Please keep our students in your prayers for safety and for strengthening of their faith and knowledge!

A few other field trips parents need to be aware of, and filling out permission slips, fees, etc.

Have a great Easter break everyone!
