Good afternoon SMS Families,

This week is Holy Week as we remember the Passion of Jesus and the end of the Lenten Season. There is no school this Friday as it is Good Friday, and we are out the week of April 6 for Spring Break. School will resume on April 13.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who baked, donated, volunteered or supported the fish fry and $10k in any way. I am proud to tell you all that this year's $10K raised $37,390 and the fish fry raised $39,805 four our school. We have had a record breaking year of fundraising, raising $145,807 this year. Truly unbelievable, and I appreciate you all. I want to send a very special thanks to so many of our new families who jumped right in and got involved, as well as many of you who picked up extra shifts when we were short of people, baked for the bake sale at a moments notice, and just stepped up because you believe in what we are doing here. Building that community in our school is so important, and I loved being able to talk to so many of you working side by side for our school. The fish fry especially is such a huge undertaking, and can be overwhelming. For six weeks, we just open up a restaurant each year, completely run by volunteers, and by the Grace of God, just continues to grow. Finally, I would like to thank our weekly volunteers, who give up their entire Fridays each and every week, in many cases taking vacation time from work to help because they know the need is there. You all inspire me, and you have no idea how much it means to me not to feel alone in this undertaking. I am forever grateful for your hard work and sacrifice.

Monday is SMS Spirit Day!

On Tuesday, the 7th and 8th grade will finally visit Maria Stein, after several weather related postponements. Please fill out your permission slips on OptionC if you have not yet done so. For more information read this article.

On Thursday, the 7th and 8th grade will once again perform Living Stations. This is an amazing experience, especially as we reflect on the Passion of Jesus this week. Parents are welcome to attend. It will begin at 2:00 in the church.

Students may begin wearing uniform shorts starting this Monday!

We have some upcoming field trips, please look for your child's class below for more info:

We are doing better, but we still have a few registrations and EdChoice Applications & paperwork that needs to be turned in. Please work on that soon.

I helped a couple SMS grandparents with their SGO state tax donation paperwork this week. If you need help or know someone who does, and they haven't yet filed taxes, feel free to call me and I will be happy to help. This is easy money that literally costs you nothing. If we don't take advantage of this, we are missing out. Last I checked we had already raised $30,000 through this opportunity. Thank you!

I hope all of our families grow closer to Jesus this Holy Week, and want you to know you ALL are in my prayers. May God bless you all.
