Happy Sunday SMS Families,
We hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. We had a great night Friday, despite a few unforeseen hiccups, the fish fry is underway. There were so many of our students, parents and staff members who stepped up to make the first week a great one, and I hope you all accept my sincere thanks. We are always at our best, when we work together! If you still need to sign up, you can do that here, or sign up for one of the later fish fries. This week's bake sale is the responsibility of Kindergarten and Preschool families. Please have your baked goods in the Hall by 10 am Friday morning. Speaking of the bake sale, outstanding job 1st and 2nd grade families, on your desserts this week, we had plenty and everything looked delicious.
Huge shoutout to our Brown County Science Fair participants who presented their projects Saturday morning. I heard lots of positive things, but as soon as we have results, we will share them!
Tomorrow is Spirit Day!
Tuesday is Spring Picture Day. The only people to be photographed are those who are purchasing pictures. All students may be out of uniform, but please make sure clothing is SMS school appropriate. If you are planning for your child to get photographed they should have the form, or it should already be arranged online.
The "Jesus Day" retreat for 2nd grade students preparing to receive 1st Communion is Tuesday at 5:00 at St. George.
This Friday, pizza is provided for our students by Fischer Farms! Thank you Fischer family!
Our 5th-8th grade Latin students will be taking the National Latin Exam this spring. Thanks to Mr. Pedigo for providing this opportunity to our students!
Great job on ticket sales everybody! We have reached our goal raising over $31,000 so far through the SMS $10K Giveaway. We will sell tickets up to the $10,000 drawing on March 27, but everything from here on out is icing on the cake. Also, congratulations to this week's $1,000 winner, Cathy and Dick Zurbuch!
Just another reminder as we are in the midst of tax season, to remind you that you and any other Ohio resident who pays state taxes can send their tax dollars to support our students at SMS, rather than sending them to the state. If you have missed it, or need a reminder, this is how. I have had many parents, grandparents, parishioners and community members reach out to tell me they have participated. It could definitely be a sustainable gamechanger as far as our school funding goes. Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great week!
