Dear SMS Families,
Fish Fry season is almost upon us, as our first fish fry is Friday, February 20. Most of you know how important our fish fries are to our budget, as they have consistently been our biggest fundraiser. Another way to look at it, is that our fundraisers are a critical component to keeping our tuition manageable for our families. This fundraiser consistently raises over $20,000 each year for SMS, and beyond that has become a great community builder for our families. Volunteerism is essential to the success of any Catholic School, and this is easily the event that requires the most help. Each SMS family is expected to work AT LEAST TWO, TWO HOUR SHIFTS. I assure you our staff will be volunteering as well, and we do have grandparents, alumni and some parishioners who help out as well, but our parents are the keys for success. Your support and participation directly benefit your child. Please do your part.
Volunteering at the fish fries is also a great way to get to know other SMS parents and staff members. As we tell our students all the time, SMS is what we make it. We are all in this together, and we are truly at our best when we are working together for the betterment of our students and the school. It also teaches our students by example the importance of volunteerism. If volunteering is important to you, it will be important to them. PLUS, it’s fun! We have a great time working together! Come, be a part of it!

Bake Sales: The following is the bake sale schedule for the fish fries. Parents of students in these grades are responsible for providing baked goods/desserts for the fish fry on their designated week. Desserts should be dropped off by 10:00 am the morning of the fish fry.
February 20- 1st and 2nd Grade
February 27- Preschool and Kindergarten
March 6- 3rd and 4th Grade
March 13- 7th and 8th Grade (All proceeds go to DC Trip)
March 20- 7th and 8th Grade
March 27- 5th and 6th Grade
