Happy Friday SMS Families!
We had another great week at SMS, getting a lot accomplished in this run of full, 5 day weeks we have had since fair break. This coming week is a short one, with Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, from 1:00-6:00, and no school on Friday. We are looking forward to meeting with our parents, and working together, for the absolute best for our students!
This week at morning prayer we continued to read about Noah in the Book of Genesis, and talked about our own covenant with God through Jesus. We especially talked about relationships, and how too many times we worry about "how does this relationship benefit me" instead of Jesus' example of real love, giving of ourselves without expecting anything in return. This week we will read from the Gospel of Luke, chapters 2-6.
If you have students in grades 5-8, please make sure you get on OptionC to fill out permission slips for the upcoming field trips to Maria Stein and the Ohio Supreme Court. There is also a $10 charge for the 7th and 8th grade trip to Maria Stein.
Thanks to everyone who sent in signup sheets for the Dessert Auction. Most of them have been posted on our public Facebook page, and the bidding is underway, and will end on Friday, November 21. We still will need desserts to be donated for the actual Harvest Dinner on Sunday, November 23. If you did not sign up to have an item auctioned, I ask that you please plan to bring an item for the Harvest Dinner.
Speaking of the Harvest Dinner, please plan to eat with us on November 23 between 10:30 and 2:00 at the Parish Hall. I will add the menu below. Special thanks to Brian and Tonya Nead, Caitlin Seip, Kelly Gilkerson, Miss Kacy, Mr. Frebis, Mrs. Heller, Cynthia Mondragon, Christine Fetters, Gaile Sentney and several of our 7th and 8th graders for volunteering to help at this event. All proceeds go to the SRO fund.

The Fayetteville Knights of Columbus have offered to have a Pork Tenderloin Dinner to benefit our SRO fund. I will post the flyer below, but please support this event if you can, and tell your friends that live in the northern part of the county about it! Special thanks to Betsy Drake and the Knights of Columbus for setting this up! Thanks to the Willey and Boone families for volunteering as well! We will have a sign-up to donate desserts for this, as we get closer.

At SMS we love and respect those who have served our country in the military. We will have a Veteran's Day service on Wednesday, November 12 at 8:30 in the Church. All Veterans are invited. Following the service, the Veterans will be invited to the Parish Hall for some refreshments. Thanks to Mrs. K and Mrs. Dengler for organizing this event. See flyer below

This week we were able to present the Hope Care Center (Pregnancy Resource Center) with a check for $1477! Thanks to all of our families for your generosity, and helping such an important cause!
We are excited to announce that soon, we will have some help with the SMS bus! Mr. Joe Glassmeyer, the former transportation director at Felicity Franklin Schools, was just elected to the School Board, and is retiring from his post as transportation director. Mr. Glassmeyer is volunteering his services to drive the SMS bus periodically to help us out. Huge thank you to Mr. Glassmeyer, and please make him feel welcome SMS Families!
Our 7th & 8th grade will host Christmas mini sessions on November 23rd from 12:00-4:00pm, to raise funds for their spring Washington DC trip. The cost is $125 (cash or check) per individual family session. For extended family - over 5 people, we ask you book 2 sessions. *$50 non-refundable due at booking, checks made payable to St. Michael School. The sessions are strictly 15 minutes, so please be on time. Each session includes 10-15 edited images that will be delivered to you via email within 2 weeks. Images will be digital download only. Book your session here: https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0949ABA922A1FECE9... Finally, we are very excited to announce the return of the St. Michael School Gala. This will be an evening this February for St. Michael supporters to have an opportunity to come together, have fun, and raise money for our school. There will be more to come, but thanks to everyone who has been working on this. I think it is a great opportunity, not only to raise funds, but also to bring our school family closer together! Save the date!

Have a great weekend!
