This continues to be a big year for our middle school students who are studying American History and the development of our government. We have another awesome opportunity for our students to actually see government in action. I have been applying for a transportation grant for several years that provide the funding for a bus to transport students to tour the Ohio Supreme Court. We found out yesterday that we received the grant this year! On Monday, December 15, our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades will leave SMS at 8:00 am by bus and travel to the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus. We will then take a guided tour for about an hour and a half, and return home by the end of the day.
Student should pack a lunch, and there will be no cost associated as we will receive funding for transportation. I will post a permission slip on OptionC that will be available for parents to sign today.
