SMS News

Good evening SMS families. Despite the three and a half day weekend, we had a busy week last week. We added an extra level of sanitation to the entire school this weekend. So combined with the three day weekend, we are hoping we can come back stronger and healthier this week.  We would also like to remind you we do have school tomorrow, although there will be no Ripley bus service.

Great job getting tickets in SMS Families! We had a flurry of tickets turned in, and ticket sales, and have now raised over $20,000 for the SMS $10K Giveaway! We have not quite reached our goal yet, but it is now in sight! tickets are still available and will be up until the actual $10,000 drawing on March 22. You are encouraged to get all tickets in asap though, as the sooner the tickets go in, the more chances you have to win!

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped Thursday and Friday at the Fish Fry. It was very busy, and although we don't have all the numbers in yet, it looks like we cleared around $4,000 which is pretty good for the first week. We fired over 500 pounds of fish! Special thanks to International Paper and RTS who called in very large orders.

If you have not yet turned in your EdChoice or Jon Peterson Scholarship paperwork, please work on getting that in as soon as possible. Remember we will need a whole utility bill for address verification, and students who are receiving EdChoice for the first time must complete Income Verification once your application has been uploaded.

Congratulations to Kowin Offutt for defending her title as SMS Chess Champion! Congratulations also to the 2nd place winner Easton Swearingen! Great job to all of our students who participated and either learned or deepened their knowledge of the game. Special thanks to Mr. Hyde for volunteering his time to bring this opportunity to our students.
