School safety is a very important issue all over the country and here at SMS we also take the safety of our students very seriously. We are thankful to announce today that we have received a $100,000 school safety grant from the state that will allow us do a complete overhaul of our camera/surveillance system, allow for better communication throughout our campus, installation of a panic alarm system, and improve the safety of our doorways at the school.
The K-12 School Safety Grant Program was a competitive grant offered by the state, and we are feeling particularly blessed by being awarded this grant. Please continue to pray for the safety of our school and students and for all schools and students in our community, state, and country.
