SMS News

Thanks to everyone who made this weekend a special one for SMS. We would especially like to thank the Knights of Columbus, Stephen Strunk, members of our staff, parents and grandparents who made our annual Halloween party a special memory for so many of our students. The SMS Halloween Party has always been a special tradition, and it has grown better and better each year!

It has been tough over the past few years with COVID to hold our dinners that help raise funds for the school. Although we still have not seen the types of crowds we have in the past, we are slowly starting to bring back that tradition. Thankfully, the use of drive-thru and carry-out, as well as the utilization of online resources, we have been able to make our Harvest Dinner a profitable fundraiser. Huge thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, and supporters who donated such amazing baked goods for yesterday's dessert auction. The auction alone cleared over $2,200! Thanks also to all who bid in person and online. We had several desserts sell for over $100, and one even sold for $350! Special thanks to Danny Polley for once again volunteering to organize the dinner, and to all the parents and grandparents who came to help in the kitchen. I honestly don't know where we would be without our grandparents. Special thanks also to the parents who weren't signed up but came in and stayed anyway, just because help was needed. A great example of leading by example! Special thanks also to Linda Defosse, Janie Klinker, Cindy Kratzer, and Karen Heller for making the dessert auction a huge success! Together, this fundraiser raised over $4,000 for SMS!

It was a busy weekend, but all worth it! Making memories, building community, helping our school. SMS Family!
