First and Second Grades have begun a new Science project called “My Mealworm”. Students started the project last Friday as part of our Enrichment class. The goal is for students to learn about animal life cycles and to write a sentence describing their observations. Each child was in charge of naming their mealworm (your common bait shop mealworms) and placing it in a “petri dish with some oatmeal as a food source. Students also learned how to use a “pipet” to carefully measure a small amount of water into the dish for the water source. Students will make observations over the next weeks to check for any “changes” or transformations.
