St. Michael seventh and eighth-grade students in our Introduction to Latin course took the National Latin Exam (NLE) in mid-March; students have been studying the Memoria Press Latin curriculum since the second trimester of the 2021-2022 school year. While not as attentive or auspicious as our St. Michael students, I remember studying the same curriculum at the Lexington Latin School as a child. The study of Latin isn’t just an integral part of a classical curriculum, it’s a beautiful part of our Catholic faith and tradition. The results are in, and I’m proud to announce that Alyssa Seip has been awarded Maxima Cum Laude for her outstanding achievement on the NLE. Additionally, Gabrielle Ernst and Addi O'Connor have been awarded Cum Laude for their excellent achievement on the NLE. We celebrate Alyssa, Gabrielle, Addi, and all Latin students at St. Michael for their dedication to the Catholic faith and classical education. Congratulations, students!
