Happy New Year SMS Families,

Classes resume tomorrow, Monday, January 3. I have spoken to several families who are still dealing with quarantine situations and COVID certainly doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. As we resume please remember the following:

  • Nobody who has COVID symptoms should try to "tough it out". If your child is sick, please keep them home.
  • Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 should wear a mask to school
  • Students are able to join classes online if they are sick or in quarantine. Although we will do our best to accommodate students who join online, it is not the same as being in class, in person. We will do our best, but it will require patience and communication from everyone.
  • Students will be counted as present if they have logged in and participated in the class, or followed the instructions given by the teacher.
  • Any parents of students who have students joining from home should contact the school as soon as possible to arrange times to pick up books, materials, etc, as well as drop off work.

Please remember also that beginning this week there will be no newsletter. All information from the school will be available here, on our website and app! That includes the daily lunch menu and upcoming events. If you do have any questions about the new website, app or anything else, be sure to email us, or contact the office.

Although our private FB Families page will remain open, it will no longer be used for official communication from the school. Some parents might find it helpful to communicate with each other, but we will not rely on it anymore, as the website should be much more functional. Again, please use the website!

This week we are working on getting our teacher's individual pages on the website up and running as well.

Finally, this is a reminder that Wednesday is the school Christmas party. Students may dress down (many classes are choosing to wear Christmas apparel). Either way, this is a dress down for a cause day, and students are asked to bring a donation which will be given to a local family who is dealing with cancer. We will also have Pasquale's Pizza for the entire school for lunch, in coordination with homeroom Christmas parties.

We are looking forward to getting back to it! See you tomorrow!
