ADVENT: WEEK 2: Advent continues this week with the second candle being lit. This week we reflect on John the Baptist who came as a voice in the wilderness, preparing the way for the coming of the Messiah. The Pharisees and the Sadducees did not want to accept his message, in fact they tried to discredit John. Certainly jealousy and arrogance played into this. John spoke truths that those in power did not want to hear or accept. This week, let’s reflect on the times in our lives that we refuse to accept hard truths in our own lives. Jesus, give us the strength and faith to repent and trust in You.
