Happy Weekend SMS Families!
We had a great week here, with great weather and fun and educational field trips for our students in Preschool through 2nd grade.
It looks like the weather is starting to turn a little (which is fine by me), but I will still allow parents to make the call on shorts or pants. We will give it another week and see where the weather goes.
There is a lot going on in the next few weeks, so please be sure to read newsletters, and any texts that you receive from the school, Again, if any of you feel like you are not receiving messages from us, please let me know, and I will troubleshoot!
Due to Father's availability, we are moving Mass day to Tuesday this week, and there will be no Mass on Friday.
As most of you saw on our FB and SMS App post yesterday, we will have an out of uniform for a purpose day this Wednesday. Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink in observation of Breast Cancer Awareness. Donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will go to Lindsey Evans. Lindsey is the daughter of former SMS teacher June Wiechman, and has been battling cancer this year. If they just wear a pink shirt, then I ask that pants or shorts are school appropriate. At morning prayer, instead of asking for normal intentions, we will ask students to pray for someone they know who has been affected by cancer. Please see the flyer below, and thanks for your support
!
On Friday this week, our 8th grade students will be volunteering at the St Vincent DePaul building in Georgetown. They will be sprucing up the building, including painting, so 8th grade students should wear old, school appropriate clothing.
Looking ahead at the coming weeks:
10/26- SMS Spirit Day
10/30- All Saints Celebration (Students are encouraged to research, and dress up like their favorite Saint!)

10/30 (PM)- SMS Halloween Party (See flyer). If you would like to help by donating items needed, sign up here.

Finally, I want to thank so many of you who contribute to the success of our school. It takes a village, and we have a great one. Whether you volunteer in the lunchroom, work together with our staff, or even speak positively and pray for our students, staff, and families regularly, please know your support means a lot and we feel it, from so many of you. Please know all of our families, are also regularly in our prayers as well.
Have a great weekend!
