Good morning SMS Families,
We had a great visit with Grandparents on Thursday and Friday. We appreciate so many of you who were able to be flexible on visit times. I think it all worked out well. We hosted nearly 300 grandparents, over the two days. Special thanks to our staff and parent volunteers who worked very hard this week to help create this opportunity for a special time for our students and the grandparents who play such an important role in their lives.
Thanks everyone once again who volunteered, sponsored a hole, donated a prize, or played in the SMS Golf Outing. Together we raised nearly $25,000 which goes directly to help supplement the tuition of every one of our students,
Thanks to everyone who contributed to "Out of Uniform for a Cause" benefitting Mr. Larry's family, last week. Together we raised over $1,700 for the Scott family. Great job, Knights!
We have decided that we will conduct our Fall MAP testing this week, in case we need to finish anyone up next week, and that we will be able to start in our new JUMP groups when we return from Fair Break. Testing will be mostly on Tuesday and Thursday this week, though we will use the other days to make up any tests if necessary. Please avoid any unnecessary absences if possible. Thank you!
On Wednesday, the 4-8 grades will conduct their annual Creek Day Science Lab at Eagle Creek. Our students will explore and identify creek life with the guidance of our staff and special guest, Mr. Burke. Students in 4-8 should wear old (but modest) clothing and shoes, as they will likely get wet and dirty. They should also bring a towel. Permission slips are up on OptionC, and must be filled out before Wednesday.
Please remember that parent teacher conferences are set for Thursday, September 24 from 1:00 to 6:00. We will dismiss at 12:30 that day. Fair break begins Friday, September 25, and we will return from break Monday, October 5. Us the links below to sign up for conference times:
Have a great weekend everyone!
