Happy Saturday SMS Families,

Thanks again to everyone who stepped up this week to help at the fish fry. Literally everyone there is a volunteer, and it is great to see so many of us come together to raise the funding needed to educate our children in a Christ-centered environment. Please know, your efforts are seen and greatly appreciated!

We raised about $965 for the 7/8 Washington DC trip through this week's bake sale. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who provided baked goods, they were awesome, and it was the most a bake sale has made all year! We will try to do even better next week, for the same cause!

We are now over $35,000 raised in the SMS $10K fundraiser. Congrats to this week's $1,000 winner, Bill Arn! Tickets can still be sold all the way up to the $10,000 drawing on March 27.

Please be sure to sign up to help this week at the fish fry. Cant help Fridays, no problem! We need help on Thursday evenings as well! We need every family to work at least 2 shifts over the six weeks, so if you haven't yet signed up, please do. And if you just have fun with us and would like to help more, I'd love to work with you! Sign up here! Only 2 weeks left!

Special thanks to our SMS parents who are having us cater to their places of work! It really maximizes what we are able to raise in a week, and it always seems to be a big hit at places like, International Paper, RTS, and the county government buildings. If we can set something up with your place of work, let me know and we will help however we can!

Looks like a pretty routine week this week with our schedule staying relatively normal, which is great, I know we have been making great strides in my 8th grade Algebra class as we have finally gotten away from the weather interruptions and been able to stack days. Looking forward to getting back after it this week!

This Friday, our 7th and 8th grade will perform the Living Stations of the Cross in the church beginning at 2:00. This is always a powerful image, and opportunity for our students to reflect on the Passion of Christ. All are welcome to attend, we just ask that you sit on the sides or in the back so our classes can sit in their assigned pews.

Note: There is no Ripley bus this Friday.

Friendly reminder to get those SMS Registrations and EdChoice Renewal Forms (and utility bills) in asap!

Special thanks to SMS parent Zach Thatcher who is encouraging his clients to donate to the SMS SGO. Remember, you will get the entire donation back! It's super easy, and it's not too late if you have not yet filed your 2025 taxes yet! More info here.

Congratulations to Mrs. Moon, who welcomed her new daughter, Arizona Jane to the world this week! Please welcome Mrs. Nina White who will be filling in for Mrs. Moon while she is on maternity leave. Mrs. White is a former elementary teacher and retired from Georgetown Elementary, where she was the principal for several years. Our 3rd and 4th grade friends are in great hands!

Finally, many of you might not know one of our custodians, Larry Scott. Larry is a great guy and always pitches in when needed. He has been dealt a difficult medical diagnoses and needs some help. In an effort to help Larry out, we will have an "Out of Uniform for a Cause" day this Wednesday, March 18. Students may be out of uniform, and I just ask that there are no tights, leggings or clothes with holes. Otherwise, they can dress how they wish. We will also collect donations for Larry this day. He will receive all of the proceeds, and I can assure you it will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
