Hello current and prospective SMS families!
It is the time of year to apply for tuition assistance for the 2026-27 school year. Today, we are going to talk about two scholarship opportunities that are available for our families.
First, and the one most of you are familiar with is the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship.
Renewals- In order to RENEW your EdChoice Scholarship, all you have to do is fill out the EDCHOICE RENEWAL FORM completely and turn it in to the school, along with proper proof of address . That's it! You only need to do income verification again if your income decreased last year, in which case it would be beneficial to update your income verification because you might get more scholarship money for your child. Otherwise, just turn in the RENEWAL FORM to the school. If you can't print it off and return it, and would like us to send you a copy, please let us know and we will. Otherwise, we are not sending them home to everyone, as we wasted a lot of paper last year.
Requests (For children new to EdChoice)- Parents of these children should fill out the EDCHOICE REQUEST FORM and turn it in to the school office, along with proof of address, and a birth certificate. Once the school has uploaded your application, then you can log in to complete your income verification to determine the scholarship amount for your child. Printed forms are available in the office.
Secondly, there is another need based scholarship that is available through the Catholic Education Foundation. These funds can be applied for, beginning on February 1. We have had some families benefit from this in the past. All can apply for it, but I especially highly encourage our Kentucky families to apply as this scholarship is not bound to Ohio residents only. See the flyer below.
