We hope everyone is having a great Christmas Season, and have been able to relax and spend lots of time with family. As we prepare to return to school Monday, we pray for all of our families for a blessed 2026, growing closer to Jesus in the new year.

First off, there will be no Ripley bus on Monday as Ripley does not return until Tuesday, January 6th. Both the SMS and Georgetown buses will run as usual.

Our first week back, we will try to get back into our regular routine, so there is nothing scheduled that will be out of the ordinary.

We will be MAP testing the week of January 12, specifically in the middle of the week, so please avoid any appointments during those days. Again, MAP testing is just a diagnostic, to help us see where we need to focus as a staff to better help our students, so no one should be nervous, and the most important thing is to get an accurate snapshot.

If you have not yet done so, please plan to help in some way with the SMS Gala scheduled for Saturday, February 7th at 6:00 pm. It is important that all of our families get involved and help with this fundraiser in any way they can. This funding directly benefits our children by improving security at SMS. There are many ways to help, and we ask that you reach out to businesses, or anyone else that you know who can help in one way or another. Beyond the fundraising aspects of this event which are important, we also hope it will serve as an opportunity to bring SMS supporters together. I have spoken to so many of you who have expressed interest to me in expanding our educational opportunities beyond 8th grade, and to do that, it will take the Grace of God, and all of us coming together to make it happen. Thank you for all you do to help create this environment for our children to grow both spiritually and academically.

I'm sure many of you are not ready for the break to be over. We are looking forward to working with all of our children, and look forward to seeing you all Monday! Have a great weekend!
