Happy Advent SMS Families!

We hope everyone had great Thanksgiving, and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for. We have three full weeks, with lots of events planned. These weeks always go fast leading up to Christmas, so please refer to our newsletters and website for easy references to when things are happening.

Unfortunately, the Maria Stein field trip for grades 7&8 will have to be postponed again. The weather isn't looking great, and there is concern about the road conditions up north. We are looking for dates this spring, and plan to take this field trip at a later date.

On Wednesday, as long as the weather holds up, we are planning to have our annual rehearsal for the Christmas musical at the Gaslight Theater in Georgetown. Please go to OptionC and fill out the permission slip for your child to ride the bus to Georgetown on Wednesday to rehearse. The plan is to take 3 different groups throughout the course of the day. All students will be back at school for lunch.

Please remember the Pork Tenderloin Dinner this Saturday at Daly Hall in Fayetteville. The Knights of Columbus are cooking, and all proceeds will go to the SMS School Resource Officer. I'm sure that having the SRO at SMS is important to our parents, so please help support these opportunities we are trying to create to be able to pay for this service. Tell your family and friends, go get a meal, share the flyer on Facebook. Support from all of our families is extremely important.

This Sunday, December 7 is the annual St. Michael Christmas Concert. The show begins at 2:00, and students should be there to get ready by 1:30. Students should wear "Sunday best".

Everyone is invited to Ripley next Friday, December 12, for the Christmas Parade and Village Christmas Tree Lighting. We will have a float, and we are planning at "Nativity Scene" theme. If you have any props that would help with this please let us know, as we plan to put the float together next week. Some students will also be involved in some musical performances that are part of Ripley's River Village Christmas as well. Our music teachers will be reaching out about those events.

All of our families should now have their original 10 tickets to sell for the SMS $10K Giveaway. We have already had several families turn in their original 10 and ask for more, so we are off to a great start. This is one of our fundraisers that is mandatory to help keep our tuition affordable, so please do your part! If you have sold your original 10, and are ready for more, just let us know and we will send them to you. Every family that sells 30 tickets will have their registration for the 2026-27 school year waived. Thank you for your support! Have a great week!
