Happy Sunday! Thanks to everyone who donated money or prizes, sponsored holes, played and volunteered to make yesterday's golf outing a successful fundraiser for our school. This is a major undertaking and there are lots of under-the-radar things that have to be done to make this so successful. We should all be grateful to so many, who do so much to help keep our tuition affordable. We are still waiting on a few numbers, but it looks like we raised close to $27,000 for our school!

Thanks to all who made Grandparent's Day, a memorable day for our children and their grandparents. It was challenging, this year due to numbers and the capacity of our facilities, for sure, but we are happy we were able to make this event possible, as we recognize the importance of grandparents in our children's lives.

As you know, this is the last week before Fair break. I know many of our students will have projects at the fair. If you would, please email me pictures and descriptions of any awards or accomplishments of our students as I plan to make a FB post highlighting our students at the fair!

MENU ADJUSTMENT: Tuesday's cold cuts will be ham and turkey-bologna

We have had a few issues with transportation lately that we need parents to help us with

  • If you are making changes to your child's afternoon transportation, PLEASE make sure you call the office BEFORE 2:00.

  • We do not mind accommodating student logistics, but please fill out proper paperwork for sports, babysitters, grandparents, etc

  • If your child is riding a bus that they normally do not ride, we must have a hand written note, so we can communicate it with the Ripley or Georgetown bus driver. We have received calls that this is becoming a problem

  • Please also talk to your children about the importance of behavior on the bus, as I also will this week. Being out of seats, moving seats, crawling under seats, throwing objects or making sudden, loud noises are all major safety issues. Thank you for reinforcing bus safety.

Looking ahead at this week:

  • On Wednesday, some of our 8th grade students will be helping Mrs. Caitlin prepare lunch!

  • There will be no afternoon SMS bus on Friday!

  • Mrs. Maria Daniels will be talking to our 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade students about entrepreneurship on Friday afternoon.

Finally, I would like to once again thank you for choosing to be a part of the SMS community. I am proud of the culture we are building, and take our vocation very seriously, as we help our children become strong leaders who will make our greater community a better place by leading others to Jesus by example. I feel blessed and humbled to have so many amazing people share this journey. I hope you all have a great fair break!
