Hello SMS Families!

It's been a busy week at SMS, and as we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the every day, sometimes we forget to realize how blessed we really are. We were paid a very nice compliment this week from one of the men constructing the new wall at the Parish Hall. He was so impressed with what he saw of our students, staff and school as a whole, that he wanted more information to possibly enroll his grandchildren, and he lives in a different county! SMS is surely a special place, and I thank all of you for your contributions in creating this environment. It takes a village, and I love our "village".

A lot of what we have been doing this week is trying to evaluate and find baselines so we can meet our students where they are. I have really enjoyed my time so far with my 8th grade Algebra class, and seeing lots of great attitudes around campus.

Paperwork: We still have a good amount of people who have not filled out their eforms. Please fill out your eforms on OptionC asap, and let us know if you need help.

Scholarships: I am still waiting for a few more award letters, and once I have them all I will apply scholarships to your OptionC account. Once we do that, we will send out account balance statements.

Uniforms: Please make sure you are familiar with the uniform policy in the Family Handbook. I am asking for your help, particularly regarding skirt lengths, jewelry, and shoes. Thank you

Toys: Toys are become an issue in class. Please do not send toys to school with children unless it is something like show and tell and has been approved by the teacher.

Golf Outing: We are up to about 40 hole sponsors (goal is 100) and we only have 6 teams (goal is 35) at this point. I am sure we will reach our goals, but we still have a way to go. We also still need door prizes as well. I have and will continue to list hole sponsors on our Facebook page each week leading up to the Golf Outing. Please be sure to thank them for supporting our school if you have the opportunity. Please work on getting those in if you haven't already. Thanks to everyone who has already been working on this!

Please keep in your prayers: Mrs. Groh, Justin Nead, Henry's cousin Lyla,

This week at SMS: Monday is Spirit Day. Students may wear SMS spirit t-shirts with jeans (no holes, rips, tears)

Looking ahead: Next weekend is a three day weekend as we recognize Labor Day. We plan to use the short week to get our baseline MAP testing out of the way, so please avoid unnecessary absences that week. Friday, September 5th is our first, First Friday, so we will have Adoration following Mass. Kona Ice will also be here that day
