I hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter! We will start back tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23. I know it was a short break, but we only have 21.5 days remaining, and it will go quickly!
Congratulations to Josie Sentney, Zoey Durham and Ella Seip who were all rated "SUPERIOR" at the Ohio State Science Fair. Way to carry on the SMS tradition of excellence! We are proud of you!
The Spring Dance is this Friday from 6:00-8:00pm in the Parish Hall for grades 5-8. Thanks to all the parents who signed up to help with refreshments, and to our staff who is putting everything together!
Also this Friday is our first Kona Ice Day of 2025! Please send $5 for each student by Friday, or pay on OptionC.
Please join me in praying for our second graders who will be receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time, this Sunday at 9:00am Mass at St Michael!
Next Monday, April 28 is scheduled to be our annual "Creek Day" where our third-eighth grade spends part of the day exploring and searching for all types of organisms in Eagle Creek. We will be sending permission slips home tomorrow, which need to be turned in by Friday. On that day students should wear old clothes that can get wet along with a change of shoes and a towel. This day is subject to change, depending on the weather.
On Wednesday, April 30, our Preschool will be visiting Family Traditions Animal Adventure in West Union, while our Kindergarten, First and Second Grades will be attending Disney's Frozen Junior, at the Taft . Permission slips for this have been sent. If you have not already returned those and the assigned fees, please do so as soon as possible.
Our first ever, SMS Mother / Son Night is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at the YMCA in Maysville, from 7:30-9:30 pm. Thanks to all who have RSVP'd!
Our annual Spring Concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 4 at 3:00pm. All are welcome to an afternoon of music from our students, led by Mr. Pedigo, Mrs. Groh, Mrs. K, and SGTMAJ Kokensparger (Mr. K. Students should wear "Sunday Best" and be at the theater by 2:30 pm.
Spring standardized testing will be held May 5, 6, 7 and 13. Please avoid appointments for those days.
Heads up! There will be no SMS afternoon bus service on Friday, May 9.
Finally, we have our annual Mother's Day Brunch scheduled for Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9. We are not able to get all of our students and moms in one day (and even 2 days is tight). Please sign up on the link for the day that works best for you. Remember that space is tight, and organization for this is important, so please sign up as soon as possible and avoid last minute scheduling. Special thanks to Brian Nead who has volunteered to help out with this event. If there are any other dads, grandparents, or (non-current SMS moms) who would like to help out, please let me know.
