In fourth grade, our students had the task of researching a famous person, and presenting what they learned to their classmates. Their research included major accomplishments, early life, later life, and any other interesting facts that they learned in their research. Then they used this information to write a research paper.
Finally, they created a poster to illustrate their historic figure, that included pictures and a few facts about their historical figure. When they presented their research, they were also encouraged to dress up like the figure that they researched, kind of like a wax museum. We had a lot of fun with these projects, and learned about many famous people, while working on our research and presentation skills!
