Good afternoon!

As a dad, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the moms. staff members, and anyone else who helped put together the Father / Daughter Dance on Friday. Reflecting back on the years of having this experience with my own daughters, I will always cherish these memories. It takes a village, and I am grateful to our SMS community, and the impact you all have had on my family.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and for all you sports fans, Swifties, and commercial enthusiasts, have an entertaining evening! Please take some time to see what's happening this week at SMS so you can stay in the loop!

  • Tomorrow, remember, we will have an "out of uniform day for a cause". Students who bring in a monetary donation may be out of uniform. I am not going to put the normal restrictions on this out of uniform day. I ask that you just make sure everyone is modestly dressed, and nothing is inappropriate for Catholic school. Once we have all of the donations, we will reach out to the families of each child and make sure the donations get to them.
    Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Lent begins on Ash Wednesday this week. We will have Ash Wednesday mass at 8:15. Please make sure students are in complete uniform, no uniform passes on mass days. We encourage all of our families to use this Lenten season to get closer to Jesus through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences are Thursday. Due to conferences, we will dismiss from school at 12:30.  The Georgetown and SMS buses will run as scheduled. Please make sure to make arrangements for pickup.
  • There is no school on Friday, February 16.
  • The first fish fry is this Friday! If you have not yet signed up for your shifts at the fish fry, please do so soon! Please also, be sure to encourage friends and family to come, and eat at the fish fry this year! This week, kindergarten is responsible for baked goods for the bake sale.
  • Friday is also our first $1,000 drawing. Please make sure tickets and money are turned in this week so the people you sold to have the most opportunities to win!

Things coming up to put on your radar...

  • On Monday, February 19 we will send home the SMS white folders with outstanding balances, Spring Pictures Forms, and report cards for any parents who were not able to come to conferences
  • We will be praying and reflecting on the Stations of the Cross every Friday at 2:00 beginning on Friday, February 23. All are welcome to join!
  • The Brown County Science Fair is Saturday, February 24 at the Brown County ESC in Georgetown. More info to come on that.
  • Students in 7th and 8th grade who are being confirmed this year, please don't forget the Confirmation Retreat on Sunday, February 25.
  • Spring Pictures will be held on Wednesday, February 28. Students may be out of uniform for these pictures.

Finally, if you have not yet turned in your EdChoice or Jon Peterson Scholarship paperwork, please work on getting that in as soon as possible. Remember we will need a whole utility bill for address verification, and students who are receiving EdChoice for the first time must complete Income Verification once your application has been uploaded.
