SMS News

Dear SMS Families,

It is with sadness, we must inform you that Mrs. Little, our preschool teacher who has been with us for ten years, has been offered an administrative position and will not be returning after Christmas Break. We appreciate the many years that Mrs. Little has dedicated to the students of St. Michael School, and although we will miss her, we are happy for her, and wish her all the best on her new venture.

We are very confident that we will have a smooth transition, and our preschool experience for our students at SMS will remain top-notch. Mrs. Betty who has over fifteen years as a preschool aide remains a major part of our preschool program. Betty has worked with Mrs. Little and previously Mrs. Owens, and is beloved by her students.

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Kylie Bradley will be taking over for Mrs. Little for the rest of the school year. This year, we have been blessed to have several talented people step up to help us as substitute teachers at SMS. One of those people is Mrs. Kylie Bradley. Mrs. Bradley is a Graduate of Bethel-Tate High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Shawnee State University, and an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Like several of our teachers, Mrs. Bradley comes to us from another field, willing and eager to be a great teacher for our students. We are very confident that Mrs. Bradley will do an excellent job in her new role.

To help with the transition, Mrs. Bradley, Mrs. Betty, and Mrs. Little have been, and will continue to work together to ensure a smooth transition for our students. We will also provide further support for our preschool team. Through a grant, we have been able to hire Dee Ann Stricklett, who will serve as a teaching coach and mentor for Mrs. Bradley as she takes on the role as the St. Michael Preschool teacher. Dee Ann is nationally board-certified in preschool through third grade. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the Ohio University. Her Master’s degree in Educational Administration is from the University of Dayton. Dee Ann has served as a classroom teacher, Intervention Specialist for gifted students, Coordinator of Gifted Services, School Administrator, Instructional Coach and district Curriculum Director.  In addition, Dee Ann operates a leadership consulting and coaching business. She has a passion for working with adults and children. Her biggest goal in life is to add value to everyone she meets.

Change is inevitable, and I am confident that our preschool program will be in excellent hands. We appreciate your support and prayers going forward.

Sincerely,

Andrew Arn

Principal, St. Michael School
