Good afternoon! What a week at SMS! We have had a lot going on here this week. Wednesday we hosted several Veterans from our community, honoring them for their service at our Veteran's Day program. Special thanks to SGTMAJ Otis Kokensparger for being our keynote speaker, and Reverend James Settles for leading us in prayer. Thanks also to Mrs. Groh Mrs. K and Mr. Pedigo for working behind the scenes to put this program together and Mrs. Patty Dengler for helping us out by organizing the reception for our Veterans.
The past two days we have been blessed to have our grandparents on campus for SMS Grandparent's Day. Even though we had to split into two different days this year, it has been a wonderful experience for us at SMS. We appreciate our grandparents, and recognize the important role they play in the lives of our students. Thanks to all of the grandparents who joined us Thursday and Friday. Special thanks to Bethany Heslar for organizing the reception for our Grandparents.
Today is the final day of the grading period. Report cards will come out next Friday, 11/17. Of course, parents and students can monitor grades at any time in their OptionC portals.
Let's take a look at things happening next week:
- Sunday 11/12- There will be a meeting for all parents of students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. George at 1:30 pm.
- Tuesday 11/14- We have 2 different field trips going on. Grades 7 and 8 will be travelling to the Otto M. Buddig Theater to watch Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Grades 3 through 6 will head to Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati to participate in the Cincinnati Cyclones Field Trip Day. Both trips are scheduled to return before the end of the school day. Permission slips were sent home several weeks ago.
- Friday 11/17- White folders coming home - They will contain: report cards, balance statements, and your first ten tickets for the SMS $10K Giveaway.

- Monday 11/20- SMS Thanksgiving Family Dinner (free of charge for students)
- Tuesday 11/21- SMS Pet Blessing, Pizza donated for students, 12:30 Dismissal
- Wed-Fri- Thanksgiving Break!
