SMS News

Hello! We hope you are having a great summer, making memories with your families. We have been busy at SMS preparing for each of our 140 students! Although we are still over a month away from the beginning of school, we do need to pass along some information so you can prepare at your own pace.

We know some of you would rather use paper, so this week we sent some important paperwork home to each of our families. In this envelope you will find:

Parents also need to complete their eForms on OptionC. For those of you new to SMS, OptionC is our student information system. There are six eForms that must be completed on your portal. Once you have logged in to OptionC use these directions to help you complete your eForms.

One of the eForms that you will need to complete is a signature page, acknowledging that you have read and agree to the terms in the 2023-24 SMS Family Handbook, which can be found on our website. If anyone would rather have a paper copy of the Handbook, they will be available in the office upon request. Otherwise I encourage you all to go over the handbook with your children, so we are all on the same page entering the new school year.

Any parents of new students who have not already done so, should also send in a copy of their child's birth certificate.

Finally, anyone who plans to volunteer at the school working with children, going on field trips, etc. must complete Safe Parish, which is part of the child protection program for all schools and parishes in the Archdiocese. In order to have contact with children, all adults must be Safe Parish Compliant.

We will be in and out of the office in July, so if you need to contact us, the best way is probably via email. Our new classrooms are supposed to arrive in mid July. I will keep you up-to-date in the meantime on any news as it happens. Have a great rest of the summer!
