SMS students competed at Field Day '23 on Friday, May 19. Students were divided into six different teams and competed in several events including flag football, slip-n-slide kickball, and the obstacle course, designed by SMS parent Meghan Huffman and Jamie Brown. Grades P-3 squared off against each other, and also participated in the Big Clothes Race and Water Balloon Toss. The competition was healthy to say the least, and each team played hard to win, while using good sportsmanship! Everybody also cooled off with some Kona Ice later in the day! Huge thank you to SMS P.E. teacher Mr. Hyde for organizing and setting up the events. Thanks to SMS Grandparents David and Susan Poole for buying everyone pizza for lunch. Thanks to all of our parent and grandparent volunteers, as well as our amazing staff for making it a fun and memorable day for our students.
